The Run Stoke Method

Training should be fun

Feel better and more energized after your daily runs and look forward to your hard workouts. The best training plan is the one you look forward to following. More fun means more consistent training, which means better results.

Training = Work + Rest

By following this formula, you will get the most out of your training. Emphasizing recovery as part of the training process ensures that you can push harder during workouts, prevent injuries, and perform better on race day without burning out.

Training should be sustainable

Improvement doesn’t happen overnight, it takes consistently showing up to training healthy and motivated. Run Stoke takes a holistic approach and places an emphasis on recovery, meaning you get the maximum benefit from your hard work.

Long term development and success

While we can work together to achieve short-term gains, the focus will be on sustainable growth over the long term. This means focusing on staying healthy, having fun, and training smart. And putting in work like a boss.

Training should be individual

Everyone responds to training differently. We will work together to find what training works best for you. Training will be catered to your needs and we’ll adjust the plan whenever life happens

Train with purpose

Each training session has a purpose and works towards the same goal: running faster, smoother, with less injuries and more fun. We will bring focus to your training and dial in each training day to maximize your fitness gains.

Ryan is a fantastic coach. Super easy to communicate with. .His sessions are spot on and make me excited to go train. Finding my way back into training and racing after a long hiatus has been challenging but Ryan's approach to training and life makes it feasible. After just a little over a month I am seeing great improvements in my fitness. He finds the positive even in bad sessions and missed training days. Can't wait to see where he takes me. I can't recommend him enough for any level runner.

Excellent instruction for my trail running with emphasis on the down hill. I suffered a broken and dislocated shoulder last year and my fear of falling again on the trail was keeping me from fun train running. Ryan watched my form and gave me practical lessons on how to feel more confident on the down hills. He video taped me during the session for my review. I can't explain how much relief and confidence I gained after my session with him. !00% recommend !

Ryan and Run Stoke are truly unique. He is an amazing coach and can help anyone from beginner to advanced grow in the sport of trail running. Don’t hesitate, reach out to Ryan and get started. Got me started with my first ever trail race, moving from a road running background.

Awesome plan that was flexible with a busy schedule and multi sport training. Ryan was available to make changes to accommodate anything that came up and gave helpful advice when injuries would arise. I’ve done different training programs before and this was the best I’ve felt out of any of these with the least amount of nagging injuries. Overall great experience.

After a couple of years struggling to get into a groove with training and a handful of races that I never made it to the start line for, Run Stoke Training has helped me find consistence and gain confidence in my running again. While I still have a ways to go to beat some of the PR's I'm feeling stronger and that I'm training in a much more sustainable way than before.

Can’t recommend Ryan and the run stoke team enough. I’ve been training under their program for Almost 6 months now to train for a marathon and have seen some pretty significant improvements in my running and overall fitness. They use a reasonably conservative and no non sense approach to training/running that can accommodate anyone regardless of experience and fitness level. I’ve also appreciated Ryan passing along a lot of tips and knowledge from his own experience. Whether it’s strength training, injury prevention or diet/supplementation these are just a few aspects of fitness and training I’ve been able to learn more and build upon with the run stoke program. If any one is looking for a coach to get into running/fitness or a certain race in mind, look no further!
